Chiropractor, husband missing; couple's car found in Olympia

Lacey chiropractor Karen Koep and her husband Davido are missing under suspicious circumstances.

LACEY, Wash. — Thurston County deputies are searching for a Lacey chiropractor and her husband who went missing under suspicious circumstances.

Deputies conducted a welfare check for Karen Koep and Davido on Nov. 13 after one of them didn’t show up to work. Deputies went to their home in Lake Forest Development and found the couple was missing.

The circumstances around their disappearance are suspicious, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

The couple’s car was later found in Olympia near 67th Avenue Southeast and Rainier Road Southeast.

Koep owns a chiropractic business in town, according to Thurston County Sheriff’s Lt. Mike Brooks.

The couple has two adult sons.

Son Justice Dutton said the family appreciates all the positive thoughts and posts about his parents online since news of their disappearance spread.

"We're so touched by so many people showing love and support for my mother and father," said Dutton.

Jim Phillips, a chiropractic patient of Koep's, said he has been getting treatments from her since he was in a car crash a year ago.

Phillips described Koep as bubbly and friendly.

He came by her Lacey office Wednesday looking for an update on the case.

"It's very hurtful," said Phillips. "We're also very hopeful she'll show, unharmed."

If anyone has information about Koep and Davido’s disappearance or if they saw the couple's car, a gray Toyota hatchback, last weekend, they are urged to contact the sheriff’s office at detectives@co.thurston.wa.us or through dispatch at (360) 704-2740.
